In many communities, women and girls with disabilities continue to experience stigma, social exclusion, and harmful misconceptions that limit their opportunities to participate fully in family, social, and economic life. These attitudes are often rooted in cultural beliefs, lack of awareness, and limited understanding of disability and inclusion.
Our community engagement programs focus on creating safe spaces for dialogue, education, and reflection that help shift these perceptions. Through community sensitization sessions, awareness campaigns, and inclusive public events, we work with community members to promote accurate understanding of disability and highlight the abilities, rights, and contributions of women and girls with disabilities.
We actively engage community leaders, religious institutions, local organizations, youth groups, and families to become allies in promoting inclusion. By involving trusted community voices, we encourage conversations that challenge stigma and foster more supportive attitudes toward disability.
Our behaviour-change initiatives also use storytelling, advocacy campaigns, media engagement, and grassroots outreach to amplify positive narratives about disability inclusion. These approaches help communities move beyond sympathy or charity-based perspectives toward a rights-based understanding that recognizes the dignity, potential, and agency of women and girls with disabilities.
Through sustained community engagement and awareness-building efforts, we aim to create environments where women and girls with disabilities are respected, supported, and empowered to participate fully in their communities without discrimination or exclusion.
